The St. Paul Winter Carnival is just around the corner. Many St. Paul residents will be surprised to know that there are many great outdoor activities and festivals that are happening right outside their front door. The winter season doesn’t slow the fun down either. In Just under two weeks, Saint Paul will be bustling with their renowned Winter Carnival. Take some time to get out and enjoy the winter wonderland that we live in. Each year the carnival showcases the hardy and fun people who call St. Paul home.  Come on out and enjoy parades, ice sculpting, snow sculpting, The Beer Dabbler, or even the medallion hunt! There are tons of great activities for everyone to enjoy.  Plus, many events are FREE!

Follow this link for a complete listing of all things winter carnival and other St. Paul festivals and activities.

YES, solar panels really work. Seven years ago Live Green Apartments installed solar thermal panels on top of the building at Grand and Dale. These panels are black with insulated glass, so they absorb the sun's thermal heat in a glycol solution which is then pumped down and pre-heats the hot water for our building. On bright sunny days it heats our water above 170 degrees, and on bright winter days it can pre-heat our water to 60-80 degrees (even if it is below zero outside). Click here for more details.
