Dripping, Running Water?
Let us know now! Dripping faucets and running toilets waste a lot of water. A leaky faucet can waste 75 to 1,000 gallons per week. We monitor the monthly water usage at our properties, but if you have a dripping faucet or running toilet in your apartment, you’ll be the first to know—so please fill out our maintenance request form and we’ll take care of it.
Clean Clothes, Clean Environment
Washing machines and dryers use a lot of water and energy. Be sure to only wash a full load of clothes to make the most of these resources! But do not overstuff the machine because this can break it.
Smart Water Use
- When brushing your teeth or shaving, don’t let water run. By shutting off the faucet and only turning it on to rinse, you can save more than 5 gallons of water a day!
- Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily. Dispose of tissues, insects, and similar waste in the trash to save water from excessive toilet flushing. This may also prevent clogs.
- Take shorter showers! By cutting your shower time down by 5 minutes each day, you can save over 4,500 gallons of water each year.
- Avoid using running water to thaw frozen meats or other frozen foods. Instead, try to plan ahead and thaw out frozen foods overnight or by using the defrost setting on your microwave.
